Can I use Slate-Lite as a kitchen worktop?

Use as a worktop is possible, but is only recommended under certain conditions due to the rough surface of the stones and the extreme loads caused by cutting tools, hot pots/pans, etc.
If you use Slate-Lite as a work surface, you should always impregnate the material several times with our Slate-Lite Special Protection.

Please note, however, that the pearl protection is a food-safe impregnation and not a sealant. The application of our bead protector does not make the material resistant to cutting.
We therefore recommend using cutting tools only in conjunction with a cutting board, as otherwise scratches would remain on the surface of the material. Please also always use an appropriate trivet for hot pots/pans.

To make cleaning the material easier, we recommend using flat, smooth decors in this area.
